• Energy: A Journey Towards Wholeness

  Over the course of 6 weeks online, we will look enneagram wisdom for stress, balance and transformation. We will then study the wisdom of our bodies emotional processing through Chakra theory and energy anatomy. Finally, we will explore Ephesians 6, and how the Armor of God scripture helps us live emotionally victorious in Christ.

• Starts with a pre-recorded course called Enneagram Harmony for Leaders that focuses on True Self/False Self, the Centers Three of Intelligence (Head HQ, Heart EQ, Gut GQ), how to move towards harmony in each Enneagram type, as well as the harmony triads & spiritual practices for growth. This course includes meditations, journaling exercises, and Christ-centered yoga practices to help you find the "sound of the genuine" in you!

What is the Unity Study?

• The Unity Study is a transformative book and Bible study that blends yoga philosophy's ethical lifestyle with Christ-centered spirituality and practices. Each week we will embody our call to be peacemakers through yoga, meditation, devotionals, and authentic community. Trainees will also explore how to invite these principles into our yoga classes and theme-weaving.
• Who should sign up? Anyone interested in putting their faith into action, those interested in a cross-cultural study to deepen their faith, yoga teachers and students in their communities who want to "let their life speak" love. 
• The Unity Study is a requirement of both the 200-hr. and 300-hr. Living Soul certification programs. LSI 200-hr. Alumni can repeat the course at the 300-level (at no cost = alumni perk) OR submit a 10-week class series plan & teach it to your community for Unity 300-hr. completion.

Everyone has experienced trauma. If the fight/flight/freeze/fawn response is blocked or if we are prevented from taking action, we become deeply wounded, left with a sense that our own body has betrayed us by failing to get us to safety. The brain then continues to send signals to the body to respond to the stressor instead of resolving the stress and gradually returning to homeostasis. Which means that long after an actual event has passed, the brain may keep sending signals to the body to escape a threat that no longer exists. In this course, we will become equipped to teach trauma sensitive yoga through learning about the neuroscience of trauma through polyvagal theory, how trauma impacts the body's tissues and nervous system, TSY teaching methodology, exploratory language, and somatic exercises to create safe spaces, the power of teaching Yoga Nidra, and ways in which we can customize what we've learned to serve special populations (those experiencing mental health challenges, veterans, youth, cancer survivors, and more).

Next Teacher Tune-up: Yoke Women's Retreat, Valle Crucis Conference Center in Banner Elk, North Carolina, Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2024.  In addition to retreat (bring your friends), there will be breakout workshops for yoga teachers.  This retreat experience satisfies the in-person Teacher Tune-up for the 300-hr. certification.  If you are a part of the 300-hr. training & paying via monthly payment plan, you WILL need to register for retreat. Starting fresh in 2025! 4 Live Workshops + Restorative Yoga Self Paced Online Course

In this module we will learn rhythms of work and rest through sacred rhythms inspired by biblical scripture, seasonal rhythms for life and leadership, and nature's rhythms through Ayurveda. 

Exploring life rhythms allows for you to ask the question: How do I want to live so I can be who I want to be?

Ruth Haley Barton said in her book Sacred Rhythms, "I have come to enjoy the language of rhythms because it provides relief from some of the more heavy-handed and rigid approaches to the spiritual life and instead draws upon the beauty and delight of the natural rhythms in the created order. Spiritual transformation takes place as we embrace the challenges and opportunities associated with each season of our life... I cannot transform myself, or anyone else for that matter. What I can do is create the conditions in which spiritual transformation can take place, by developing and maintaining a rhythm of spiritual practices that keep me open and available to God." 

• Live Zoom Workshop on Sacred Rhythms: Katie Pearson will lead a workshop helping us craft a Be New rule of life for 2025 that prioritizes wholeness over busyness. 
• Live Zoom Workshop on Ayurveda: Maggie Lightner will lead us in a workshop called Living Ayurveda.  In each week of this January course, you will put into practice ways in which you can balance your specific dosha for more vitality in 2025.  We will look at nutrition as well as practices (i.e. dry-brushing) that help you reduce your toxic load.  
• Live Zoom Workshop on  Mindfulness + 12-Day MBSR Reset (short mindfulness teachings and meditations each day) with Tracy Cunningham
• Live Zoom on Sacred Rhythms with Spiritual Director, Kristin Gibowicz discussing what we've learned from the month and how can live by our rule of life in 2025.

Why Breath of Life?

• What will you learn? The anatomy (the breathing team and how it works), physiology (the process of cellular respiration, the impact on the nervous system, and optimal breathing techniques) and spirituality (creator, counselor, & consoler breath study in scripture) of breath.  You will be equipped to coach people through powerful breath techniques. learn how to write breath meditations, and up-level your own breathing experiences on and off the mat.
• The Breath of Life Course was designed for you to learn more about the power of breath practice and how it can be an embodied-rhythm in your life to return to God's presence. In the presence of God we "catch our breath," slow down, build self-awareness, find our center in stillness, seek counsel, release holding patterns, and reduce stress for better health. Our prayer is that this course isn't just informative, but that it is transformative in your own spiritual formation and how you share it with others.
